RSV, Your Baby, and Beyfortus

Are you worried about RSV (respiratory syncytial virus) causing a potentially
severe illness in your infant under age 8 months or your high-risk toddler under
age 20 months?  We are, too!  Are you interested in learning about some ways to
minimize or possibly avoid severe RSV infections?  If so, please click on the link
below for more information.
Beyfortus (nirsevimab) is the antibody injection for most infants and some high-
risk toddlers and is now available.  We have a limited number of doses available
at this time but are hopeful that the supply will be adequate this RSV season.
Medicaid and most private insurances are covering Beyfortus.
Important note: if pregnant women receive the RSV vaccine at least two weeks
before delivery (please refer to the link below), most of their newborns will not
need the Beyfortus injection!
Please contact us today if you are interested in scheduling an
appointment for your baby’s Beyfortus injection or would like to receive it
with their regular vaccines!

Flu Vaccines

Flu Vaccines: Call Today to Schedule Your Appointment

Your providers at TLC Pediatrics, PLLC recommend that all children 6 months
and older get an annual flu vaccine. If you or your child have not had a flu
vaccine since August 1, 2024, we recommend getting it as soon as possible.
Making sure your child is up to date on vaccinations is very important.

Children ages 6 months to under 9 years old receiving a flu vaccine for the first
time (and those who have had only one previous dose) will need two doses, 4
weeks apart, to be considered fully vaccinated for this flu season.

We are also offering flu vaccines for eligible parents and caretakers under the
age of 65 years. If you would like to receive your vaccine with your child, please
let the receptionist know when scheduling so we can see if you are able to
receive a flu vaccine at our clinic at no cost to you.

The flu vaccine is safe and effective. It reduces the risk of your child catching the
flu and their risk of suffering serious complications. Children younger than 5
years and those with certain chronic conditions are at increased risk for
complications and hospitalizations due to the flu. Please use the links below for
more information.

Vaccination is the best protection! A flu shot is quick, easy and covered by most
insurances. Call TLC Pediatrics at 501-327-2444 to schedule your child’s flu
vaccine today!
